Brighouse based, Sophie Edgar author is a new exciting talent in the world of children's literature. Her first book, 'When Mr Bumble Came to Stay' went straight to the top of sales on Amazon on the day it was released. It's a heart warming tale of a little girl and a bumble bee. It broaches many childhood issues such as overcoming fears, friendship and responsibility. It also has a strong environmental message and makes looking after bees and the environment fun! It is packed full of wonderful illustrations by Loren Grosvenor, and is a firm favourite with my daughter!
Sophie was keen to have some headshots that she could use on her social media and other platforms. She invited me over and we took a variety of shots in her house. She offers school visits and had a funky personalised hoody created to wear for these events. We shot some pictures of her wearing her hoody. We then did a quick change and got some shots of her on the sofa with her beloved dog Teddy.
Sophie's next book 'The Magical Kite Ride' will feature Teddy and be set in the local area in Brighouse and around Huddersfield. Someone had the crazy idea of trying to shoot some promotional pictures of Sophie with a kite and a dog! Look out for those shots in the coming weeks!
